Chamber Choir

The GYC Chamber Choir is a small, tight knit group of singers with advanced skills in musicianship.

The Chamber Choir aims to consolidate choristers’ musicianship training and further develop skills in voice production, harmony, vocal blend, phrasing, dynamics, rhythm and stylistic interpretation. There is also a focus on professional stage presence and performance techniques. These skills are developed in a disciplined yet enjoyable environment where a team spirit of respect, responsibility and accountability is supported and encouraged. The smaller size of the group provides opportunities for individual singers to hold a part on their own and therefore develops the concept that each chorister is responsible for the success of the ensemble as a whole.

The Chamber choristers are encouraged to participate in the artistic process of creating music by contributing their own interpretive ideas to the performance of the pieces that are sung and exploring them in a creative and respectful environment. This collaboration creates a great sense of both personal and team achievement for all involved.

Conductor:  Denise Hollingworth

Accompanist:  Kym Dillon
