GYC Raffle Launched today!

Where would you go if you had $2,500 to spend on travel???

You might get to put your plan into action if you get yourself some tickets in GYC’s mega fundraiser in partnership with Executive Travel Management!

Tickets are $10 each,  and we have a small ticket run of only 2,000 tickets, with a $5000 prize pool!

1st PRIZE : $2,500 travel voucher, from Executive Travel Management, Geelong

2nd PRIZE : Four tickets to Roar ‘n’ Snore Overnight Camp at Melbourne Zoo ($900)

3rd PRIZE : Two tickets to Elton John – Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour – Dec 7th @ Mt Duneed ($600)

4th PRIZE : Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. A ten course degustation for two at Crown Melbourne ($590)

5th PRIZE : Choose your own adventure with a Red Balloon Voucher ($400)

Windfire Gala Opening 2018

Windfire 2018

Choristers from GYC joined with singers from around Geelong to form a massed choir conducted by Tom Healey and Malcolm John for the Gala opening of the 10th Windfire Music Festival.

Soloists were:

Lee Abrahmsen – soprano, with whom many choristers sang in Opera Australia’s “Marriage of Figaro” production in Geelong in 2017.

Sally Wilson – soprano

And the program featured favourite works such as

  • Jerusalem – Parry,
  • O Holy Night – Adams,
  • Ave Verum – Mozart and
  • Sanctus – Gounod, Nimrod – Elgar

Other works included Andante for Flute and Orchestra – Mozart, Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana – Mascagni and Oboe Concertino – Malcolm John.
