Sing with Isaiah Firebrace!

The Geelong Youth Choir is delighted to offer the opportunity for young singers to join together and sing with one of Australia’s most talented young artists, Isaiah Firebrace.

The workshop is open to young people aged 12 to 25 years.

GYC Members: Free
Non-GYC Members: $30

This opportunity has been made possible through a Victorian Youth Week grant from the Victorian State Government.

Dates and Times

Saturday, 26 June: Preparation Workshop
3:00pm to 5:00pm

Venue: (Highton) Location provided to registered participants.
In this workshop we’ll be learning the music to sing at the session with Isaiah.

Friday, 2 July: Workshop with Isaiah Firebrace
2:30pm to 4:15pm
Venue: (Geelong) Location provided to registered participants.

Friday, 2 July: Isaiah Firebrace Concert
7:30pm @ Costa Hall
Tickets are available to Isaiah’s concert at the Geelong Arts Centre. Members of the Geelong Youth Choir will be performing with Isaiah in the final song in the concert. There may be additional places available for workshop participants to also perform in concert with Isaiah – please enquire.

About ISAIAH:

Isaiah has an incredible story. In the past four and a half years, the talented 21 year old has transformed from a small-town singer to the most-streamed First Nations pop artist in the world.

Along the way he’s won The X Factor, represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest (finishing in the top 10), and is signed to Sony Music Australia.

Isaiah’s debut single has broken records, with ‘It’s Gotta Be You’ going Double Platinum in Australia, Platinum in Norway and Sweden, Gold in Denmark and is now notching up over 253 million international streams. The song was one of the highest streamed songs from any Australian artist in 2017 and continues to break records. Isaiah’s incredible voice is seeing his releases collectively notch over 300 million streams at only 21 years of age, solidifying his place as Australia’s most successful First Nations male pop artist.

Prior to the unprecedented events of 2020, Isaiah had just finished a national tour with his band, including 50 shows and workshops with remote and regional communities across Australia. He was able to work with people in outback Australia, sharing his journey and showing that dreams can become reality with hard work and self-belief. As part of the tour, Isaiah sang his original song ‘Spirit’ with children from communities challenged by hardship.

Isaiah has been writing in both America and Australia, collaborating with some of the finest songwriters and producers in the world. He has written some incredible pop songs, which will be released through Sony in 2020/21. Isaiah’s single ‘You’ (released on 11 December) has big pop hooks alongside Isaiah’s earthy feel that show exactly where this international recording artist is headed.
